We all want to live a balanced lifestyle where we eat the right plant-based foods, stay in shape and enjoy every moment, but let’s face it: sometimes we just don’t feel like it. In those moments, all you need is a bit of inspiration and motivation to remind you how great it is to feel great!
Today, plant-based recipe developer Emma Hyslop shares her secrets to Instagram success, life as a vegan and exclusive tips to make your healthy life a fun life!
Hey! My name is Emma and I am a 20 year old home cook who takes way too many photos of her food. I am blessed to be doing what I love in hopes to inspire others to live a healthy and vibrant lifestyle. When you can’t find me in the kitchen, I’m writing, or at the spin studio!
I didn’t really go searching for a specific niche, I just share what I eat which happens to be plant-based!
Instagram is undoubtedly one of the most powerful social media tools today, I personally believe it is one of the best ways to connect with like minded individuals. I think it’s kind of crazy how you can become friends with people who live on the other side of the continent through the platform!
I honestly don’t know how things “took off” for me it’s all been kind of crazy, however I think being consistently just myself has attributed to the growth in my community.
I’m not just about food! Although I primarily share plant-based recipes, I share sustainable fashion tips, tips for shopping on a budget, even to the occasional non-toxic skincare tips, and more. I hope that for anyone apart of the community I can be a light in the space to inspire them to live better in whichever form that may take for them.
I don’t have any dieting advice because I don’t believe in dieting. I believe in listening to your body and your mind; feeding it what it wants.
The First Mess (Laura’s work is gorgeous), Pinterest (I know that sounds strange but it’s such an inspirational space with no judgement), and lastly Instagram itself… I follow so many lovely individuals on there that it keeps the fire lit for sure.
Going through my eating disorder made me re-evaluate everything in my life, and I now feel as if I live with much more purpose.
“Eat like you love yourself.” I don’t know who said it, but eat the chocolate for your mental health, and eat the kale for your physical.
NYC or LA, but more so LA. I mean they have Cafe Gratitude, Erewhon, Wild Living Food, Moon Juice… How could you not find something there? It’s like “what adaptogen do you want in your latte?” is the norm around there.
Honestly not a whole lot, except for the fact that at restaurants they usually only have one option so make sure you like almost all veggies. Other than that, the world is changing and as such there are inherently more options popping up.
I mean this isn’t a movie from 2018, but anything with Anne Hathaway like The Princess Diaries, The Intern, or Devil Wears Prada is my kinda movie.
Avocado. Enough said.
LAST QUESTION:
You can find me on IG @thenakdkitchen or my website www.thenakdkitchen.org. I always have ideas flowing through my mind, with lots of work in the tubes. I can’t really say cause they are top secret! (sorry!!!)
