As the number of Coronavirus cases in the U.S. surpasses 45.000, we’re more than aware of the reality we live in: pandemic.
I know it’s scary, I know it’s hard. I know it’s even harder for people at risk who still need to go out for grocery or medication.
We can only do this together. If you need help, advice or just need to share your story, please reach out. You can leave a comment to this post, write us on Facebook or leave a message here. I’d be glad to help you however I can.
Until I get your message, I thought that the best way I can help is by sharing some tips that work in protecting us outside. There are times my family or I still have to go out:
For those unavoidable moments, we take every precaution measure we can. I want to share 5 things we do every time we go out which I think can keep you safer from the new coronavirus as well:
Studies at the National Institutes of Health proved that the new coronavirus can live several days on surfaces including doors, buttons or screens.
I use my elbow to open a door, I tap the digital screen of an ATM machine with my knuckles and push elevator buttons with my wrist. No matter how careful you are, some gestures like touching your face are so natural you may do them without realizing.
Also, make sure to get masks ahead and use one every time you go out!
Shopping carts or baskets are among the most touched objects in a grocery store. Bringing your own shopping bag spares you from touching a cart as well as getting new bags from the store (that were also touched by many before you).
If I’m about to buy food that needs to stay cold (frozen meals, meat, milk or eggs) I like to use this insulated grocery bag and keeps my products fresh. Also, I always have a foldable grocery bag in my purse just in case I need more storage space.
The first thing I do when I get home is to wash my hands and try to touch as few objects as possible… but you can’t avoid touching soap, can you? This detail bugged me for so long, especially since my family forgets to sanitize the dispenser.
I made everyone happy by getting this automatic soap dispenser. It has a 21oz capacity which we really need right now and offers just the right amount of soap to wash our hands thoroughly. And also, don’t forget about the soap. I really liked this one Rustic Strength Liquid Hand soap, Citrus Bliss
Before the pandemic, I used my phone to write my shopping list and check the time at the grocery store. I still take the phone out of my pocket by habit and I might forget to sanitize it when I get home. We got rid of that risk too with two simple tricks:
Before you go, I just want to remind you that you can write us a message anytime (Coronavirus-related or not). Staying connected in times like these is crucial, so let’s keep in touch!
