Experiencing These Post-Vaccine Symptoms? Don’t Get 2nd Dose, CDC Warns
Who might have stronger reactions to the first dose?
One recent study carried out by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City found that former COVID-19 patients reported higher rates of vaccine side effects such as fever, headache, chills, fatigue and joint pain after receiving the first shot (regardless of which vaccine), compared to people who haven’t been infected with the virus.
In addition, researchers also discovered that people previously infected with COVID had stronger antibodies in their blood after receiving both vaccine doses, a clear sign of an amplified immune response. As concluded by study author Florian Krammer, PhD, a virologist at Mount Sinai, “I think one vaccination should be sufficient.”
