According to Dr. Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease doctor, people who’ve already had COVID may have a sufficiently strong enough immune response to the virus from a single dose of the vaccine. Based on recent research of blood samples from former COVID-19 patients that later received a single shot of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, their antibodies amplified considerably, as explained by lead study author Andrew T. McGuire, PhD.
More than that, “the antibodies seemed to perform better than those in people who had not had COVID and had received two doses of a vaccine”, which prompted Dr. Fauci to say that the vaccine recommendations might change based on recent findings.
