8 Odd Things You Probably Never Thought Could Give You Cancer
Breast implants
Breast implants, per se, don’t cause cancer but they can lead to a rare type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma called anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (ALCL). According to various studies, women with textured tissue expanders instead of smooth ones have a higher risk of developing ALCL. Researchers believe the textured surface can cause women’s immune systems to react in a way that can lead to cancer over time.
Nevertheless, the odds of getting cancer from breast implants is still low. Studies found that only 1 woman in every 7,000 women who get breast implants, will develop ALCL by the time she turns 75.

Dry cleaning your clothes
Dry cleaning is a convenient way to look your best with minimal effort. All you need to do is pack, drop and pick up your clothes. But, as it is the case with many other things, convenience is not always healthy.
You might like to see your clothes perfectly cleaned, dried and ironed but most dry-cleaning methods involve the use of a hazardous chemical called “perc”. In fact, the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer classified it as a “likely human carcinogen”. This means people who are constantly exposed to this toxin have higher risks of developing cancer, such as esophagus, kidney, and bladder cancer.
