9 Body Parts Most People Don’t Clean Properly
Under the fingernails
We all know it is very important to wash our hands thoroughly and as often as possible, after using the restroom, sneezing, touching raw meat, and so on. However, there is a part of your hands is that is disregarded most of the time and not that easily cleaned with just a few rounds of faucet water: the underside of your nails.
But don’t worry, you’re not the only one insufficiently cleaning your nails. Actually, according to a study that was published in the Journal of Environmental Health, 95% of all individuals have no idea how to wash their hands (and nails) properly. This allows for bacteria to establish itself and colonize under the fingernails.
Captain’s tip: Soak a cotton swab with warm, soapy water and use it under your nails to get rid of dirt, grime, and possible bacteria.
