Eyestrain, or astenophia, is usually caused by staring at a computer screen for an extended period of time, reading in a poorly lit area, wearing contact lenses for too long or driving for hours. Its most common symptoms include dry eyes, headache, sensitivity to light, double vision, itchiness, burning sensation. In some cases, indoor heat or air conditioning can also cause fatigue, irritation and itchy eyes.
