Undecided About Vaccination? Doctors Recommend This COVID Vaccine
There have been no reported cases of anaphylaxis
Compared to Moderna and Pfizer’s clinical trials during which several rare cases of severe allergic reactions were reported, in Johnson and Johnson’s clinical trial, there were no such reactions reported. For this reason, experts recommend the J&J jab to people with a history of significant allergies to a vaccine, medicine, or food or those prone to allergies who carry EpiPens.
Jessica MacNeil, MPH, an epidemiologist at the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said individuals with allergic responses to the first dose of Pfizer or Moderna should opt for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine instead.
