COVID-19 is widely known for its unpleasant symptoms of fever which can lead to extreme fatigue. However, other neurological signs have also showed up in some patients.
Delirium, confusion and dizziness can sometimes appear early in the illness. Dr. Glatter admitted to having seen patients suffering from confusion and a sign described as ‘altered mental status.’ In severe cases, some patients have even developed brain inflammation which required neurologic monitoring.
While this is partly due to fever and partly due to fatigue, it’s still an important symptom to look for – especially if you notice any other unusual signs such as chills, fever or coughing.
