Leg pain
Perhaps the most common (and early) symptom of PAD is claudication, which is discomfort in your legs. Patients often describe this type of pain as ‘heaviness’, or a sensation of burning. These signs are caused by clogged arteries that prevent normal blood flow to the extremities and back.
As Dr. Slovut explains, the pain can be felt in any part of the legs, whether it’s the thigh or foot. Also, this pain may be reoccurring: for example, you may feel it after walking for a while, it goes away when resting but it returns as soon as you walk again.
