5 Skin Care Products You Should Never Use on Your Face, According to Dermatologists

Skin care products you should never use on your face

If you have skin problems, or if you do not have and want to avoid them as much as possible, then it is important to take care of your skin.

You will find a lot of ideas on the internet that promise you a beautiful skin, but you should know that if you apply certain products (or you do it wrong) it could challenge or aggravate your skin problems.

1. Scented soaps – Skin care products

Surely everyone washed their face with soap at some point for some reason. However, experts recommend that we do not do this and tell us that it is better to wash only with water, than with soap and water. However, if you wash your face with soap, make sure it is a soap as natural as possible, preferably without perfume. Scented soaps can irritate the skin, cause rashes and a lot of other ailments.

Instead, you can use a cleaning product that does not contain soap or a liquid cleaning solution that contains components with a moisturizing and inflammation-reducing role.

2. Exfoliating scrubs – Skin care products

If specialists recommend using an exfoliating scrub on the body once a week, it is not recommended on the face. Scrubs attack the skin and can cause you a lot of discomfort in this regard. Specialists recommend creams and lotions with exfoliating effect, which can be applied at night, and which save you from the worry of classic exfoliation. In pharmacies you can find such products and you can also ask for information related to their application.

3.Paraben products – Skin care products

Parabens are chemical preservatives, often used in beauty and care products, but which in recent years have been linked to the incidence of several types of cancer according to research. Methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl parabens are by far the most widely used in the cosmetics industry. As long as you can find a lot of products with natural formulas on the market, you should avoid them as much as you can.

4.Lemon and lime – Skin care products

Lemons and lime have a beneficial role for the body, but not when applied to the skin. The negative aspect of them is that when they are applied to the skin and then you come in contact with the outside air you will be liable to get a chemical burn called photodermatitis. This condition occurs especially during the summer.

5.Glycolic acid – Skin care products

Exfoliating at home for skin care may seem like a great way to save time and money, but it can permanently damage the skin. People who use exfoliating products with a high content of glycolic acid can develop dark burns on the face. Also, glycolic acid is not always recommended for people with dark skin color. Instead, dermatologists recommend that people with dark skin tones try masks with salicylic acid, which is much gentler. Before using an exfoliant at home, it is advisable to check its use with a dermatologist.
