Of all the fruits available in a grocery store, I think bananas are the real treasure. They are sweet, fulfilling, easy to carry around and so versatile when used for desserts and drinks!

You know I like to offer recipes anyone can make, so chances are you already have every ingredient required for this banana smoothie in your kitchen. The best part about this recipe is that it’s a hearty snack or breakfast choice for any family member, as it’s kid-friendly too.

Banana Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

1 banana. One of the most fulfilling fruits out there, bananas are rich in antioxidants and fiber. The riper the banana, the sweeter your smoothie will be!

½ orange. This ingredient adds a huge dose of vitamin C and vitamins to your smoothie. It offers a tropical flavor that cools you off, making it perfect for summer.

1/3 cup Greek yogurt. This is an essential ingredient if you want your smoothie to be protein-packed. Additionally, Greek yogurt makes your drink creamier too.

¼ cup water or milk. You can add plain cow’s milk or almond/coconut milk to make the recipe vegan. You may also use water, but milk surely helps you reach that creamy smoothie texture.

1-2 teaspoons honey (optional). Using good-quality honey adds important nutrients to your banana smoothie, as well as a sweeter flavor. It’s especially useful if your banana isn’t ripe enough.

Captain’s Tip: You can substitute the orange with pineapple or mango for the same tropical and nutritional results – or mix them all up!

 

Directions:

Add the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
