Prep time: 15 mins
Cooking time: 15 mins
For the pizza dough
*or you could just buy a pre-made vegan pizza base
For the tomato sauce
For the topping
In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast and sugar with 300ml warm water, oil and 1 tsp salt. Stir thoroughly until you form a soft, sticky dough. Knead the dough for 10 mins and then put it back in the bowl to let it rise for about 1 hour.
Pre-heat the oven to 220C/200C/ and put a baking sheet to heat up. In the meantime, knead the dough again on the floured work surface and then take a piece of the dough and flatten it with a rolling pin. Mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl. Add salt and pepper.
Spread 4-5 tbsp of the tomato sauce on top of the pizza base and add some sliced tomatoes and vegan cheese. Drizzle some olive oil and put inside the oven. Let it bake until it becomes puffy or the cheese has melted.
You can add fresh basil leaves and thinly sliced tomatoes to make it more flavorful and tastier and sprinkle some vegan parmesan right after you’ve taken the pizza out of the oven. Enjoy!
