Health experts all agree that it is imperative that people get the vaccines and stick to precaution measures to prevent the original virus and the mutated version from spreading and help an already stressed health care system.
The academic medicine community has “a really important role to play in their communities in helping people over the next few months,” Jha says. They should urge people to “double down on public health measures. You don’t have to do this forever, it’s just a few more months.”
