If I’ve Already Had COVID-19, Do I Still Need the Vaccine?

More than 16 million Americans have been infected with the coronavirus, and the infection rate doesn’t seem to be dropping anytime soon. The US vaccination program started on Monday, December 14th, 2020, after the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine received emergency-use authorization from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday, December 11th.

So many people have already had COVID-19 (fewer than 1 in 10 Americans), therefore a very plausible question has emerged lately: do I still need the vaccine if I’ve already had COVID-19?
