According to Dr. Fauci, both Pfizer’s and Moderna’s vaccines showed promising results in terms of their potential side effects, which were minor and mild. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said the side effects should not be seen as an obstacle in treating and putting a stop to the pandemic.
“It’s going to be one of those things where you say, ‘The value of it certainly overrides the inconvenience of feeling poorly for a while,'” Dr. Fauci added. Before you decide what to do, make sure you’re not in one of these 4 Groups of People Who Shouldn’t Get the COVID-19 Vaccine Just Yet.
After receiving the first dose of the Moderna vaccine, some patients with facial fillers (not to be confused with Botox injections) reported swelling and inflammation in the areas with the fillers.
Two such patients had hyaluronic acid (HA)–based dermal fillers injected in their cheeks six months before their vaccination while a third patient had lip filler injected two days prior to the vaccine. The patient with the lip swelling experienced similar reactions in the past, after getting a flu vaccine. They all received steroid and antihistaminic treatment and the swellings disappeared, informed board-certified dermatologist Dr. Shirley Chi.
