This Is How You Can Catch COVID Even If You’re Vaccinated, Fauci Warns

There is a 0.008 percent risk of COVID infection after being fully vaccinated

According to the CDC, as of April 13, 5,800 cases of breakthrough infection have been reported in the United States. A breakthrough infection refers to having a positive test result in minimum two weeks after becoming fully vaccinated (receiving both doses of a COVID vaccine).

According to data released by the CDC, as of the same date of April 13, more than 75 million Americans have received both vaccine doses. This means that the 5,800 reported cases account for around 0.008 percent of the fully vaccinated individuals.
