Your body converts the food you eat into glucose for your cells to use as a source of energy. But your cells need insulin to take in glucose.

If your body doesn’t make enough insulin, or if your cells are resistant the insulin your body makes, the glucose can’t reach them and you will feel the lack of energy. This is the reason why diabetes makes you feel hungrier and more tired than usual.
