What if we just wait for herd immunity?
The herd immunity theory suggests that if the majority of a group becomes immune to a certain disease, the minority will also receive protection.
At this point, though, we can’t talk about herd immunity because many people still haven’t been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, nor have they gotten vaccinated. In other terms, waiting it out isn’t a solution – at least not this time.
I know the pandemic life is extremely tiring and we all wish to get our freedom back. The only way we can regain some sense of normality right now is to keep following experts’ recommendations, getting vaccinated if possible and staying safe.
