Try these meats for a healthier diet:

  • Fish and Shellfish – Fish will always be our all-times-favorite, because it’s super healthy and rich in omega-3’s and offers such a wide variety of options.
  • Chicken – This is one of the most basic and easiest meats to raise yourself. If you choose the right bird, you can double-benefit out of it, as you can get both meat and eggs.
  • Turkey – Turkey offers lots of healthy choices. It has white and dark meat, and it’s extremely healthy if you exclude the skin.
  • Beef – At some point, many believed that beef was unhealthy. But as time went by, we now know that as long as the beef is lean, then you’re good to go.
  • Veal – Veal can be a tough option for many to consider. And because veal is the meat from a calf, it can be difficult to raise it yourself.
  • Lamb – Lamb is considered a red meat source, so if you’re passionate about red meat, it’s a great option for you.
  • Buffalo – To everyone’s surprise, the latest studies showed how buffalo meat is actually healthier than we thought. Considering the fact that you can make with buffalo meat the best burgers you can possibly eat, this is great news.
  • Ostrich – Although it’s not a typical choice, if you consider eating it anyway, you should know that as long as it’s lean, it’s a healthy option.
  • Emu – This is another healthy meat option that you might hesitate to try. But it’s a healthy choice.
  • Sandwich meats – If you’re into sandwich meats, then you should know by now that it’s processed food. But keep in mind to watch after the sodium levels: as long as it’s low in sodium, then you’re good to go.
