This recipe will remind everyone of their childhood because there’s nothing more “farmhouse” than an apple pie made especially for Thanksgiving.

Ingredients:

For the Crust

  • 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 4 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2/4 c. cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 2/3 to 1/2 c. ice-cold water

For the Filling

  • 3 peeled & sliced Granny Smith apples
  • 3 peeled & sliced Golden Delicious apples
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
  • 6 tbsp. granulated sugar divided
  • 2 large eggs
