Dr. David Kruse, sports medicine specialist at the Hoang Orthopedic Institute in California, recommends a warm-up session of both light cardio and stretching. Focus on the muscles you’re going to use the most, but keep every area of your body active. Generally speaking, a bit of treadmill could put all muscles and joints to work and get you ready for exercise.
