Experiencing These Post-Vaccine Symptoms? Don’t Get 2nd Dose, CDC Warns

Anaphylaxis symptoms appear much faster after vaccination

Generally, non-severe allergic reactions occur within the first four hours after your shot. This is not the case with the severe reaction which the CDC warns they occur in the first 15 minutes after vaccination.

However, early symptoms of anaphylaxis may disguise as non-severe allergic reactions, which only complicates matters as it becomes harder to predict whether initial, mild symptoms will progress to become an anaphylactic reaction,” the CDC explains.

Their recommendation is for people with a history of non-severe allergies (immediate reactions to prior vaccines or severe reactions such as anaphylaxis) to be kept under medical supervision for 30 minutes after receiving their shot, as opposed to 15 minutes for non-allergic people.
