Some vaccines offer a lifetime immunity while others need to be repeated constantly as their immunity gradually decreases in your body. It usually takes several years until a vaccine is approved for large-scale administration particularly because researchers evaluate the vaccine’s immunity rate and identity as well.
However, the COVID-19 vaccine has been manufactured and released so quickly that researchers still can’t tell how long its immunity lasts. In December 2020, Moderna scientists published a study that proved the immunity from their vaccine has remained the same four months after vaccination.
Some researchers are estimating that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines can have an immunity of up to two years, although there’s no solid evidence. In this case, only time can give us the right answer.
