10 “Healthy” Foods Seniors Should Avoid Eating Altogether

Multigrain refers to the fact that the product contains more types of grains and grains are definitely on the “healthy foods” list. However, before you start consuming multigrain bread like you’ve found the secret to eternal youth, stop for a minute and check the ingredient list.

If the bread you want to buy is made of refined flour, then it’s not very nutritious and healthy. More than that, if it includes high-fructose corn syrup, you’d better leave it on the shelf.

Captain’s tip: You should look for multigrain bread that’s made of whole-wheat flours, namely flours that include the entire wheat kernel, including the bran and germ. These are the parts with the most nutrients, such as fiber, B vitamins, iron, folate, potassium, and magnesium.
