10 Things Every Diabetic Should Know About COVID-19

Can you get COVID-19 faster if you have diabetes?

This is perhaps one of the most common question diabetics address to their doctors.

Luckily, there’s no evidence suggesting that those diagnosed with diabetes are more likely to contact COVID-19 than healthy individuals. However, if a diabetic does get infected, they’re considerably more likely to suffer from complications due to the virus than other people.

The risk is exponentially higher for those struggling with additional health problems often associated with diabetes, such as heart disease or hypertension. This is yet another reason why people with diabetes should be as careful as possible when going out or meeting others.
