This Is Who Will Receive The First COVID Booster Shots

“It is likely that the countries that have already achieved high vaccine coverage are going to be ready to shift their focus to boosters in 2022 and possibly even starting at the end of this year,” Le Goff said in a statement. An even more positive scenario indicates that Moderna’s booster may be ready as early as late summer.

According to Le Goff, the boosters will most likely be available in countries such as the United States where the vaccination rollout has been put on fast forward for prompter results and faster immunization. At the moment, around 5 percent of the global population has received both doses of the COVID vaccine. This means that in most countries, the focus will be for as many people as possible to be fully vaccinated first.
