In the third case, there is a patient who noticed horizontal white lines appear on their nails that didn’t disappear with pressure. The symptoms are known as Mee’s lines or transverse leukonychia.
The patient noticed that these symptoms appeared 45 days after being tested positive for Covid-19. Interestingly enough, these lines usually appear as a result of an episode of poisoning with arsenic, thallium or other heavy metal, and opioid MT-45.
Also, they can appear as a sign of kidney failure and have been noticed in chemotherapy patients. That’s why it’s so odd to see them in Covid-19 patients. Luckily, Mee’s lines resolve themselves with nail growth and don’t require any treatment.
It’s always better to be safe than sorry. Consult your doctor if you see or feel anything strange in your body!
