Get vitamin D

Vitamin D is crucial to keep our muscles and especially our bones strong and healthy in the long run. The Institute of Medicine highly recommends that you try to get as much vitamin D as possible from your diet and sun exposure.

The daily recommended intake for women up to 70 years old is 600 IU and 800 IU for women older than 70. If you can’t get that much from foods and sunlight, talk to your doctor about the possibility of taking supplements.
