Believe it or not, sexual intercourse can give you headaches, according to researchers. As explained by Caleb Backe, a health and wellness expert with Maple Holisitics, although rare, sex headache is real and it can affect you physically as well as mentally.
This type of headache is more frequent in men, being caused by a surge in blood pressure, explains Dr. Okeke-Igbokwe. Most sex headaches are not serious. However, if you experience a sudden, sharp pain, it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor to make sure you don’t have a more serious, underlying condition such as a brain hemorrhage.
