Not Eating Enough Fruit and Veggies? You Might Regret It

It could increase the risk of heart disease

Another health problem caused by not eating enough fruits and veggies is the increased incidence of heart disease. It has been found that millions of cardiovascular-related deaths around the world have been caused by poor fruit and vegetable diets.

As we discussed before, fruits and vegetables are great sources of fiber, potassium, magnesium, and antioxidants, all helping you keep your blood pressure and cholesterol in check. This, in turn, can decrease your risk of heart disease and stroke. And according to a study published in the British Medical Journal, for every serving of fruits and vegetables they eat, people could reduce the risk for cardiovascular disease by 4 percent!
