What about immunized individuals?

  • Study 2: There’s another study published in the journal Nature that shows how having only one shot of a two-dose vaccine (such as Pfizer-BioNTech or AstraZeneca) can barely provide any kind of protection against the disease. In addition to that, researchers also claim how important it is to have done both doses of a vaccine: it gives significantly more protection against the infection with Delta variant, estimating there’s a 95 % effectiveness.

The same study showed how this new coronavirus variant is less sensitive to “sera from naturally immunized individuals”. This means that individuals who were previously infected with another version of the virus are not protected against the new Delta variant.
