Not Losing Weight on a Low-Carb Diet? This might be why

You think losing pounds is the same as losing fat

Weight loss is a tricky process. Some days, you feel like you’ve reached your weight loss target while other days the scale simply does not want to go down.

When starting a low-carb diet, many people get rid of a considerable number of pounds in the very first week. But because it’s mostly water weight, the pound-dropping is not as visible in the weeks to come. Not to mention that losing weight has nothing to do with losing fat.

What you can do:  Get rid of fat and build muscle by doing weightlifting. What’s more, stop using the scale. Opt for a measuring tape to check your waist circumference and measure your body fat percentage on a monthly basis. Also, take pictures of your body and pay attention to how clothes fit you. They can tell you a lot more than the scale.
