Summer in the D.C. area means mosquitos, as they are always plentiful. They’re the uninvited guests at every cookout. Unfortunately, Washington, D.C., was listed among the metro areas with the worst mosquito problem in the nation.
As we all know, mosquito season initiates when spring temperatures arrive, the pest being most active when temperatures climb above 80 degrees, with breeding seasons in July and September. But they’re not only annoying, but they can also carry diseases. The most common one is the West Nile virus, but they can also carry encephalitides, and Zika, which can threaten the safety of humans and pets.
