As it turns out, juicing is not as healthy as we were made to believe. At least not for everyone. Sure, it can be a great source of vitamins and minerals but also an unsuspected source of sugar which can increase the risk of diabetes by 16 percent, according to a study published in September 2019 in the journal Diabetes Care.
More than that, the process of making juice involves the elimination of fiber from fruits and vegetables, a type of carbohydrate that helps regulate the body’s response and use of sugar, boosts satiety and improves bowel movement. To make sure you get the required fiber amount, stick to whole fruits and veggies, says Braaten.
