In 2017, Prince Harry told the British newspaper “The Telegraph” that he experienced depression and anxiety close to a “complete breakdown”, because of the loss of his mother. Wanting to raise awareness about mental health problems, Prince Harry admitted that he had completely blocked his emotions for years, which only resulted in severe psychological effects.
As he claims, he needed nearly two decades to admit his suffering and struggles after he tragically lost his mother, Lady Diana, in 1997. “I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well.”
