How long does it take to recover from long Covid?
Unfortunately, there is not enough data to know for sure how long it would take to recover from COVID-19 completely. One thing health experts want you to know is that long-haul symptoms are not specific to COVID-19 infections – there are other viral illnesses with long-term symptoms of their own.
In some cases, symptoms last approximately three more months after recovery while fatigue and exertion intolerance can last up to six months. However, it may depend from one person to another.
“Having appropriate resources in place is essential for aiding recovery in the painful and long months after acute infection,” said Dr. Robert Glatter, an emergency physician at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. “Long COVID-19 takes not only a physical but a psychological toll on recovery, which directly impacts how people are able to resume their lives,” he added.
