Yes. The COVID-19 vaccination process has recently started in the United States, but experts recommend wearing masks and complying with social distancing rules a little while longer after people get the vaccines.

In fact, president-elect Biden has said that he’ll ask Americans to wear masks for the first 100 days of his presidency. “The first day I’m inaugurated to say I’m going to ask the public for 100 days to mask. Just 100 days to mask, not forever,” Biden told CNN, adding that he expects to see a significant drop in the future number of coronavirus cases due to vaccination and masking.

Why are masks so important?

For a number of reasons. First of all, because the coronavirus spreads mostly through respiratory droplets. People with COVID-19 can release such droplets whenever they cough, sneeze or talk, and other people can easily inhale them. A mask prevents the infected person from spreading droplets and other people from inhaling them. Simple as that.
