After the COVID toes and COVID rash, another strange symptom has been identified in association with coronavirus infection. According to a study published in the British Journal of Dermatology, a considerable number of COVID-19 patients had bumps on their tongue, along with inflammation, redness and swelling. At the beginning of the COVID‐19 outbreak, most doctors focused on checking the heart, lungs and abdomen, which could be a cause of the COVID tongue going under the radar.

“Seeing increasing numbers of Covid tongues and strange mouth ulcers. If you have a strange symptom or even just headache and fatigue stay at home!” warned Spector.

The symptoms are not specific to COVID-19 only but if redness, swelling and inflammation of your tongue is accompanied by more well-known COVID-19symptoms, such as fatigue, loss of smell and taste, you can be pretty certain of the diagnosis.
