This Is How You Can Catch COVID Even If You’re Vaccinated, Fauci Warns
No vaccine is 100 percent effective
During an online briefing at the White House at the beginning of April, Dr. Fauci clarified how some people could still catch COVID-19 even after receiving both doses of the vaccine, or a single dose from Johnson & Johnson.
In medical terms, this is called a “breakthrough infection” which can occur with any vaccine, “in clinical trials and in the real world. No vaccine is 100 percent efficacious or effective, which means that we will always see breakthrough infections, regardless of the efficacy of the vaccine,” Fauci stated.
