Breakthrough infections were mostly reported in people over 60 and in women
As revealed by the CDC, there have been cases of breakthrough infections among people of all ages, but their majority reported in two main categories of people.
“A little over 40 percent of the infections were in people 60 or more years of age,” the CDC stated, while “65 percent of the people experiencing a breakthrough infection were female.” More than that, 29 percent of the cases did not experience any symptoms while 7 percent required hospitalization and 1 percent of the fully vaccinated people died.
