You experience cravings

When a smoker goes through nicotine withdrawal, it’s as if every waking minute is consumed by the urge to smoke. Most of these craving moments last around 3 to 5 minutes but it can be enough for some to give up fighting and take up smoking again.

There are two types of cravings associated with nicotine withdrawal:

Physical cravings – your body’s reactions to lack of nicotine. You may feel tightness in the throat or belly as well as anxiety or tension.

Psychological cravings – caused by everyday events. Many smokers and even non-smokers feel the subconscious need to smoke in certain situations, when they’re under stress for example or when socializing.
