Blood Clots After COVID Vaccine? This Is Who Is More Likely To Get Them
The use of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine has been put on hold
The CDC and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have decided to halt the use of the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine, following blood clotting reports.
Although the reactions are extremely rare, “we are recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution. This is important, in part, to ensure that the health care provider community is aware of the potential for these adverse events and can plan for proper recognition and management due to the unique treatment required with this type of blood clot,” agency officials said in a joint statement in April.
