Blood clotting is still a very rare vaccine side effect

Although several cases of blood clotting have been reported in the United States as well as in other countries, health experts want to reassure people that blood clots caused by vaccines are still very rare.

As a matter of fact, taking oral contraception poses a higher risk for women to develop blood clots than receiving a vaccine against COVID-19. Blood clots from oral contraception can occur in four women out of 10,000. By contrast, the clotting problems after vaccination have appeared in about one in 100,000 recipients.
