On a worldwide scale, though, more than 10 manufacturers have their COVID-19 vaccines authorized for administeration as we speak. Let’s check their approval rate:

  • Pfizer-BioNTech: Approved for emergency use in the US, European Union and approved in multiple other countries worldwide;
  • Moderna: Approved for emergency use in the US, European Union and other countries; approved in Switzerland;
  • Oxford-AstraZeneca: Approved for emergency use in the UK, E.U. and other countries; approved in Brazil; forbidden in Denmark;
  • CanSino: Approved in China;
  • Johnson & Johnson: Emergency use in the US, E.U. and other countries; paused in several countries including the US temporarily;
