Another food that can contain dangerous bacteria, namely Bacillus cereus, is cooked rice. Usually, Bacillus cereus can be killed by exposure to heat but the spores that they create are heat resistant and can turn to be quite toxic.
If you’ve left your cooked rice sitting around for too long at room temperature, the next thing you can do is toss it away. If you really insist on reheating it, the only way to destroy all the bacteria is to heat it until it’s piping hot all the way through.
