Lymph nodes are a common sign of your body fighting colds or bugs. It’s usually nothing to worry about. However, with that in mind, many people overlook persistent lymph nodes that may signal something far more serious such as leukemia, lymphoma or blood cancer.
Swollen lymph nodes located in armpits, neck or groin that don’t seem to go away should prompt you to schedule a doctor’s appointment even if they are not accompanied by visible signs of infection.
