What if my local vaccination center ran out of supplies?
Unfortunately, this has already happened in many states: people failed to get their second dose on time because their pharmacy or vaccination center simply ran out of shots. Doctors faced the problem during the first months of 2021 when supply was still fairly low.
However, if it does happen to you, you can always call in and reschedule your second shot at another vaccination center.
Doctors recommend getting both shots at the same location because they keep your record and know exactly what to do. If you’re opting for a different location, bring your vaccine card so that doctors can see important data about your first dose.
When rescheduling your second shot, make sure to check if the new location has the same vaccine brand (Moderna or Pfizer) as your first shot so the two match.
