Pneumonia
Pneumonia refers to an infection of the lungs, often caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. Â Pneumonia can occur in young and healthy people, but it can become life-threatening for adults over 65, infants and people with other chronic diseases or weak immune systems.
Symptoms: mild or severe cough, fever, shaking chills and shortness of breath.
Treatment: Pneumonia can usually be treated at home, through prescribed medication such as antibiotics and pain relievers. Patients with more severe forms of pneumonia might require hospitalization and breathing ventilators.
