However, specialists can still confirm that the new vaccine can prevent complications and reduce the severity of the symptoms.
The first cases of the new South African variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus outside of Africa have been reported in the UK. However, it’s unlikely that this new variant will become dominant around the globe and the AstraZeneca vaccine is effective against other known variants.
